Mary Cassatt (1845-1926) was one of the early female artists who showed the world that a woman’s touch can be beautiful if not magical, in the art community. Mary painted with many forms of paint but she loved watercolor and oil, separate and combined. As an Impressionist, her subjects of choice were families – mothers and children, siblings, fathers and sons. It is said that very few artists can match Mary’s ability to show emotion and love in the people she painted. Though she was never a mother herself, her paintings of the love between mother and child are unmatched. This box is going to help you portray family love with pastel chalks. Be sure to get the biography on Mary to see more of her works and learn about her love of families.
